Case report: Rare case of Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma with peritoneal carcinomatosis, found on inguinal hernia repair

ABSTRACT:
Inguinal hernia repair with pathology showed of Pancreatic body cancer, Adenocarcinoma with peritoneal carcinomatosis. A rare case diagnosed in Change Hua Show Chwan Memorial Hospital.
PATIENTS AND METHODS:
A 83 y/o man patient, right groin bulging mass for 2 weeks. Physical examination:Right inguinal hernia and hernioplasty applied where pathology showed adenocarcinoma. Series lab, tumor marker and radiology studied diagnosed of pancreatic body tumor lesion with diffuse peritoneal carcinomatosis. Aggressive chemotherapy of Gemcitabine performed.
RESULT:
Repeat tumor marker CEA & CA-199 level were raised with disease progression.
CONCLUSION:
The outcome is poor for patient with metastatic inguinal hernia sac.
