Abstract:
Foreign body in lower urinary tract is not an unusual finding. Different types of foreign bodies has been retrieved from the lower urinary tract like for example, electric wire, safety pin, hairclip, gauze, battery and so on.
Here we report a case of 28 year-old Taiwanese man who has inserted a 10cm hot melt adhesive in the bladder for the masturbation and he could not retrieve it. He was referred to our hospital for management.
On physical examination, the patient did not report any abdominal pain or urinary retention. There was no finding by X-ray. Cystoscopy indicated a banding like foreign body and we removed it smoothly.
Conclusion
There has been many cases reported in literature about insertion of foreign bodies in bladder but presence of hot melt adhesive in bladder is first of its kind as far as our knowledge is concerned. It could not detect by plain X-ray is interesting.
