Thep Tubeless Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) :

The Experience of Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital

Purpose:

To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of tubeless PCNL.

Materials and Methods:

During Jan 2017 to Dec 2020, we reviewed a total of 139 patients underwent PCNL in our hospital. There were 100 patients underwent tubeless PCNL. During surgery, FLOSEAL Hemostatic Matrix was used for hemostasis after the stones were extracted. The hospital course and postoperative complications were analyzed by retrospective review.

Results:

Of the 100 patients, 50 patients were male and 50 patients were female. There were 4 patients had pseudoaneurysms with bleeding and received TAE. There 18 patients received blood transfusion before or during surgery. There was 2 of 39 patients who underwent tradition PCNL received TAE because major complication of pseudoaneurysms bleeding.

Conclusion:

Tubeless PCNL is a safety procedure compare to tradition PCNL.
