Amyloidosis is considered as extracellular deposition of amyloid, a protein with a fibrillary structure, in one or more body sites. Amyloidosis in the urinary bladder is a rare disease with approximately only 150 cases in the literature. In this present case report, we describes a 65-year-old woman with initial presentation of intermittent gross hematuria for 1 year. Abdominal sonography and computed tomography showed unremarkable findings. Cystoscopy showed fragile, yellowish and irregular mucosa over bladder neck with mild oozing. Transurethral resection of bladder was performed, and the pathology confirmed amyloidosis.
Due to the rarity of amyloidosis of urinary bladder, herein we also reviewed the literature in terms of imaging features, treatment strategy and prognosis.
