Purpose: As the progress in department of pathology nowadays, we can now have more accurate pathology diagnosis for non-clear cell carcinoma and its subtypes. We analyze these data for general populations, treatment outcomes, long term survival, recurrence rates.

Materials and Methods: We retrospectively collect a total 307 Renal cell carcinoma patients who received either radical or partial nephrectomy at our hospital for past 2 decades. We analyze the total proportional of non-clear cell carcinoma and its subtypes comparing to worldwide literature. Prognosis and treatment option was also analyze in different period of time.

Results: We found 51 patient about 16% of our patient group pathology report as non-clear cell carcinoma and 80% of the case was diagnosed in recent 5 years. There is significant difference in diagnosis rate, prognosis and survival benefit in differed period of time. But no statically difference in type of surgery and whether partial or radical nephrectomy.

Conclusions: Progress in pathology department had influence our treatment strategy and decision making. We can now even track back some rapid progression and poor outcome patient to understand the etiology. We need more Taiwan database to create a better and through research.
