Duplicated Renal Collecting System With Ectopic Ureter in Female Coital Incontinence: A Case Report

Coital incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine during sexual intercourse. Though women seldom voluntarily report this condition, the prevalence of coital incontinence can be as high as 56% among women with symptomatic urinary incontinence. The relation between coital incontinence and stress urinary incontinence or overactive bladder has been proven. However, the mechanisms of coital incontinence are still poorly understood.
We reported a case of 35-year-old female with recurrent acute pyelonephritis and coital incontinence who was found to have a complete duplicated left collecting system with an ectopic ureter inserted into the vagina. The patient underwent a robot-assisted laparoscopic heminephroureterectomy. During operation, distal ectopic ureter inserted to the vagina was confirmed and was removed smoothly along with the duplicated collecting system. The Warm ischemic time was 23 minutes. The symptoms of acute pyelonephritis and coital incontinence no longer occurred during the post-operative follow-up.
