How does MRI affect prebiopsy for prostatectomy upgrade rate?

Purpose:

MRI for prostate cancer becomes more popular due to its less harm. Fusion biopsy will increase with the use of MRI. Therefore, it is for us to know how to use MRI to upgrade prostate cancer diagnosis rate.

Materials and Methods:

A total 103 fusion biopsy patient in our hospital in 2023. We analyzed the pathology of transrectal biopsy versus fusion biopsy diagnose rate.

Results:

With the use of fusion biopsy, we had more sensitivity in fusion biopsy. Transrectal biopsy about 25%, but in our hospital fusion biopsy had about 40% in PIRADS 3, PIRADS 4 and PIRADS 5 patients.

Conclusion:

Fusion biopsy truly increases the sensitivity of prostate diagnosis, and it will help patient earlier diagnosis, and get earlier treatment.
