Abstract:
Bladder diverticulum is an uncommon condition often associated with urinary symptoms such as incomplete voiding and urinary retention. We present a case of a 74-year-old male with a history of bladder diverticulum who presented with poor voiding sensation despite having a relatively small prostate size, 23.47ml. Fibercystoscopy was performed and found one diverticulum over right lateral wall. Imaging studies confirmed a large diverticulum of the bladder, prompting consideration for surgical intervention. This case highlights the importance of considering bladder diverticulum as a differential diagnosis in patients presenting with residual urine despite modest prostate enlargement. Management strategies, including robotic diverticulectomy and simple prostatectomy, are discussed.
