Perirenal abscess is an uncommon complication of urinary tract infections or occurs secondary to hematogenous spreading. It can result in severe morbidity or even death if failure to treat.
We report a case of perirenal abscess after swallowed fish bone for 3 weeks. A -60 year-old male came to ER because of progressive left upper abdominal pain. There was no symptom of gastrointestinal bleeding but constipation and abdominal distention were noted. Blood routine examination showed leukocytosis and elevated CRP level. Abdominal CT scan revealedforeign body penetration from distal 3rd duodenum with migration to left hilar area, causing left renal artery pseudoaneurysm and a small abscess collection at perirenal region. Laparoscopic debridement and drainage was performed after endovascular repair with stentgraft implantation of left renal artery. The postoperative course was uneventful. He was then discharged with ongoing regular OPD follow up.
