Introduction: Wilson’s disease is a rare genetic disorder of copper metabolism which commonly presented hepatic and neurologic symptoms. The neurologic dysfunction is the initial clinical manifestation in 40% to 60% patients with Wilson’s disease. We report the first case of patient with Wilson’s disease induced external urethral sphincter hypertonia who was treated by Botulinum toxin type A.
Case reports: A 15 years old boy suffered from Wilson’s disease who initially presented neurologic disorder of progressive bradykinesia and spasticity. Voiding symptoms was then developed including difficult void, straining and hesitancy. Video urodynamic study revealed external urethral sphincter hypertonicity. Botulinum toxin type A was injected into external urethral sphincter via cystoscopy. Micturition was improved with low post-void residual urine volume.
