Abstract
Angiomyolipoma (AML) is a benign renal neoplasm derived from perivascular epithelioid cells and belonging to PEComas (peri-vascular epithelioid cell tumors). It consists of blood vessels, smooth muscle, and mature adipose tissue.
Angiomyolipoma may also be derived from extrarenal region including liver, spleen, lung, retroperitoneum, and bone. The adrenal glands are rare site of AML and previously a total of 16 cases of adrenal AML have been reported. We present a case of left side adrenal AML which is incidentally diagnosed by chest computed tomography (CT). The patient received laparoscopic tumor resection and left adrenalectomy. We have reviewed the literature of previously diagnosed adrenal AML.
