Bronchogenic cyst mimicking an adrenal tumor: report of a rare case

Abstract
Bronchogenic cysts are benign congenital anomalies of the primitive foregut that aberrant bud from the ventral diverticulum and were typically found in the thoracic cavity. Retroperitoneal bronchial cysts are extremely rare and should be differentiated from other neoplastic lesions. We present a case of a left adrenal mass found in a 46-year-old female from health examination. There was no abnormality in endocrine assessment before surgery. The mass was removed by laparoscopy and pathological examination confirmed bronchogenic cysts. Although rare, bronchogenic cysts should be considered in the differential diagnoses of retroperitoneal masses, and diagnosis needed definitely confirmed by histology.
