Holmium laser transurethral resection of huge bladder tumor: A case report

Case report
A 52 year-old male denied any systematic history in the past. According to his statement, he suffered from frequency, urgency of voiding and hematuria for over one year. Voiding problem was noted recently, he went to urology department for help. Cystoscopy and abdominal-pelvic CT was done, which revealed a 7.7x8.1x6.8 cm huge mass in urinary bladder, suspected bladder cancer. Muscle invasion was suspected. Radical cystectomy or CCRT was suggested but patient refused. Therefore, TUR-BT with Holmium laser was performed. Due to the bladder tumor was huge and massive blood loss, surgery was aborted.
First time TUR-BT pathology report was showed Urothelial carcinoma (papillary, invasive, high grade). Radical cystectomy was suggested again, but patient persisted received TUR-BT. Therefore, tumor was totally resected s/p five times TUR-BT. He was discharged with outpatient department follow up.
There was no recurrence lesion for two years and random biopsy performed and pathology report showed cystitis and granulomatous inflammation without any malignancy.
