Abstract:
Retrocaval ureter is a rare is a developmental anomaly due to external compression of upper ureteral by the inferior vena cava. Surgical correction was recommended for symptomatic patients. Only a small number of sporadic cases have been reported in the literature. We reviewed the diagnosis and treatment of total eight cases with retrocaval ureter in our hospital. Our results show that open, laparoscopic and robotic surgey are safe and effective treatment options for retrocaval ureter.
