Purpose:
Although evolving techniques of cancer treatment and improving survival rate in cancer patients, fertility is still an important issue among Chinese-speaking region. This is a study to explore the latest recommendation for fertility consultation in cancer patients.
Materials and Methods:
From the NCCN Guidelines® on line available, we collected the clinical practice guidelines up to 2017. Fertility or pregnancy consultation of the cancer patients were the focused keywords for survey.
Results:
There were at least 47 treatment guidelines by sites of malignancies in NCCN Guidelines® on line. A total eight clinical guidelines in China editions were collected before this abstract submission.  There were prostate cancer, T-cell lymphoma, primary cutaneous B-cell lymphoma (PCBCL), Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Hairy cell leukemia, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia/Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (CLL/SLL), B-cell lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Prostate cancer and multiple myeloma were the two cancers without fertility recommendation. The other 6 treatment guidelines for fertility consultation were based on evidence category of 2A (lower-level evidence, but uniform NCCN consensus that the intervention is appropriate).
Conclusion:
In the present survey, not all cancer patients under treatment are recommended for fertility based on NCCN Guidelines® China editions. Further long term survey is needed for patients’ fertility with medicine progress.
