Purpose: The past decade has been the golden era for endourological treatments. However, there are still many challenging cases which may require more aggressive strategies. Compare to conventional endourologic approach, ureteroureterostomy and transureteroureterostomy are alternative choices for obstructive uropathy.

Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study where we reviewed and analyzed the etiological and operational results and complications of all patients underwent ureteral reconstruction between January of 2011 and October of 2016.

Results: For this study, a total of nine patients were treated by various methods of ureteral reconstruction, and six of the nine patients studied were previously diagnosed and treated for malignancy. Ureterocystostomy was done by psoas hitch in 1 patient, ureteroureterostomy in 3, and transureteroureterostomy in 2 patients. Patency of reconstructed ureter was 100% with at least 1 year of follow-up.

Conclusions: In the endourologic era, ureteroureterostomy and transureteroureterostomy remain feasible options for the more challenging cases.
