Renal mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma – a case report

Introduction:
Mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma of the kidney (MTSCC-K) is a rare subtype of renal tumor. It has had been recognized in 2004 by WHO. We are here to present a case report of clinical presentation, feature of immunohistochemistry.
Case presentation:
A 67 years old woman with history of hypertension and cerebral vascular accident present with fever and gross hematuria. She visited our emergency department, urinary tract infection was diagnosed and the kidney sonography revealed a left kidney mass. Then, she was referred to Nephrologist and urologist. CT of kidney showed a large heterogenous mass(8.5*8.7cm in size) at upper polar portion of the left kidney. Post-operatively, the pathological report the tumor as Mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma of the kidney (MTSCC-K).
Conclusion and discussion:
Mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma of the kidney (MTSCC-K) is a low-grade malignant and rare subtype of renal cell carcinoma. Mostly, the tumor was incidental finding as patients present to you with flank pain or hematuria. The manage principle is just like other kidney mass. Due to its low-grade malignancy, patients have good prognosis result.
