A rare case with cutaneous metastasis of bladder urothelial carcinoma

Abstract

    Cutaneous metastasis of bladder urothelial carcinoma is very rare with incidence rate less than 1% and often represent poor prognosis.

We present a rare case of muscle invasive bladder cancer with skin mass over right arm and verified to be metastatic urothelial carcinoma. With poor response to following therapy, he died due to disease progression and multiorgan failure few months after the cutaneous metastasis was diagnosed.

This case reminds us that even rare, the possibility of cutaneous metastasis of bladder urothelial carcinoma should be considered and the influence of outcome. With limited case number and short survival of these patient, further study is recommended for evaluate the efficacy of immunotherapy for skin metastasis of urothelial carcinoma.
